Lasting workmanship outdoorsLandscaper Daniel Tyrrell constructs a visually interesting and functional new garden for some very satisfied clients. Cost Range: $75,000 +
"He's a very engaging young man and he obviously really knows his business," says Susan. "We liked him immediately and engaged him to do the work." Daniel Tyrrell is a young landscape designer and construction contractor who brings a comprehensive set of skills to every project he tackles. The most important thing to him is that the work is completed in a skilful, professional manner and stands the test of time. "It's easy to slap something together, but whether it lasts is the real test," he says. "Just making sure everything is done properly within the constraints of the budget and the time you're given to complete the work is the key." Daniel and his crew followed the intricate and detailed design drawings provided by design firm Out Of The Blue and, over the course of 12 weeks, created a new rear garden for Susan and her family. The garden, which already contained a swimming pool, had previously been overgrown and "fairly uninteresting to look at", as Susan puts it. Susan had asked Out Of The Blue to design a new garden around the pool that was safe for her children while also bringing a sense of height and depth to the formerly rather bland yard. Following those plans to the letter, Daniel Tyrrell Landscapes built a granite platform on the far side of the pool, along with two screens with 'windows' cut into them. They constructed a curved timber sundeck at one end of the pool and planted an eclectic selection of plants, from birches and conifers to agaves. Daniel believes it is important for a construction crew to establish a strong and friendly relationship with clients, so they feel comfortable about his team being there. And with this relationship in place, Susan and her family were able to ask questions and feel involved in the work, while also marvelling at the wide range of skills demonstrated by Daniel and his team. The results of this process are workmanship that will last and a wonderful new garden - with an undeniable 'wow' factor - for Susan and her family. » View the photo gallery for this project » This article originally appeared on www.homeatyellow.com.au
